I've checked the brick and mortar stores.

I purchased three of them for 5
$4.99 each , they lasted three years.

I use them to get stuff out of the dryer.

If you have and use a tried and true one that you like and
would buy again , is appreciate your help.

I don't require a folding model.
Thanks to those in advance who choose to
help out.

I've been pretty happy with these:

A little pricy but three years old and still going strong.

I've been using the things for the last 10 years. most of them are too fragile.

I find these to be the best:

best light weight reacher grabber

I also use one of those "pick up trash on the freeway for my community service" types and a fancy stick.

We bought this one for my wife when she was both pregnant and recovering from gal bladder surgery at the same time (it was really really needed).

We've had it for six years now and it has held up really well. I think it's the best combo of lightweight and sturdy.

I'm on a big corner lot... ~1/2 mile from a county trash station so I get the occasional trash in my yard... I have tried a few and none were any good, all broke.

One issue is the jaws on most open wider than the travel of the squeeze handle meaning reverse leverage.

My last one broke last summer, I'll look at the ones you guys recommended.

Thanks!

The one in OldChimney's original post is the best. I have used mine for 7+ years and have a new, unwrapped one in the hall closet just in case I should lose or break my current one!

Whatever you buy - if the grabbing portion gets worn/raggedy, you can extend its life by using plastidip. I put four good coats of plastidip on the claws of one my wife had worn out, and it was better than new and lasted years.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I'm old. I remember back in the late 1940s, a small grocery store on the corner of the block where my Grandmother lived in Brooklyn.

You did not push a cart around the store; you stood at the counter and told Frank (the owner) what you wanted. He stacked your order on the counter before bagging it, pulled the pencil from behind his ear, and wrote the price of each item in a column on a paper bag. Added it up, lightning fast, and wrote the total in a little ledger book. My Grandmother would stop in once or twice a month to settle her tab.

I remember him using an old-time grabber thing, a wooden pole that, to my young eyes, seemed to be ten feet long (probably much shorter), to grab things from the high shelves.

The RMS two pack came and initial
opinion is pretty good.
Not "industrial" by any means.

I only need 1/2 as much kung foo grip
as the previous two failure grippers.

Coins ,dental floss and cloth passed the testing.

At first I was a bit dismayed by a short version.

But I think I will put it in the back seat of the LeSaber
for use when I am out and about.

I will try to remember to post
any short comings if they should show up.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

Just make sure you buy 2 of them so when you drop the first one you have the second one to pick up the first one.
