Sgt NeutronArmed Robbery suspect tripped up
He would've gotten away if it wasn't for that meddling Grandpa:
http://www.nbc4i.com/news/loca...ng-police/1158469353COLUMBUS (WCMH) - Police in Columbus are thanking a man who literally stuck his leg out for officers.
A man identified as ‘Bill’ was at a west Columbus library with his granddaughter on April 3. He was waiting outside as he was leaving when he heard police sirens.
He said he saw a man with a hand in his waistband running from officers. The man had a lead on the officers.
As the man ran by, Bill stuck his leg out in order to trip the suspect.
Police say the move likely saved the suspect’s life and allowed police to catch up and make an arrest.
Officers recovered a Glock 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 29 rounds. The gun fell to the ground as the suspect tripped.
Police say the suspect was arrested and taken to the Franklin County Jail.
“Community involvement, be it by courage, bravery and/or fancy footwork, helped take a criminal off the streets of Columbus,” said Columbus police.

FiveFiveSixFanThat was a pretty slick and well-timed move. Nice use of the cane to stabilize himself, too.

Sig2340I bet the criminal was surprised as hell when suddenly the ground rose up and smacked him in the face.

EponymThe move was graceful. He should consider a career in handicap ballet and law enforcement.
I have just one question: Did this occur in Columbus, Georgia or Columbus, Illinois or Columbus, Indiana or Columbus, Kansas or Columbus, Kentucky or Columbus, Minnesota or Columbus, Mississippi or Columbus, Missouri or Columbus, Montana or Columbus, Nebraska or Columbus, New Jersey or Columbus, New Mexico or Columbus, New York or Columbus, North Carolina or Columbus, North Dakota or Columbus, Ohio or Columbus, Texas or Columbus, Wisconsin?
I find it curious that many news videos name the city but not the state. They may give you clues and make you work for it. I had to Google WCMH to learn it is a TV station in Ohio; so presumably the events occurred in Columbus, Ohio.

BamaJeepsterOld age and treachery will always defeat youth and skill.

rburgI'm old, but I still respect the idea that youth, skill and treachery will defeat old age.
