30/30 for my youngest my oldest and I use .270 model 70. The youngest will eventually get a .270 too Edit to add that 30/30 Marlin pictured with my youngest was my first deer rifle at about 10 or 11 and my 3 kids have all shot there first deer with it also.This message has been edited.
