WTF is with thing? I just used a whole set of needles from the spring loaded pokey tool and 5 strips and still don't have a reading. I had blood all over my hand and couldn't get a read. I think this thing is a just a plot to sell strips and needles.

I've used accucheck and it was accurate and one time. Something is wrong with your machine.

I still have and use the Accu-Chek- Aviva I started with many years ago. It has the fat blue pen--Softclix CE0088. Every two years I am sent a new tester and the one you are fighting with I also disliked.
of late, Newer is not to be confused with improved.

Use a cheap ReliOn brand here. The only time it errors out is when you get too much blood on the end of the test strip.

It doesn't take much to get results. Let it soak/wick up the blood and move on. If you let it sit in the blood spot too long it'll error out.

several decades of finger pricks and the use of Accu-Chek Aviva and the so-called Softclick lancets are a bit of a joke. Made the switch to the Livongo (free to me), a better meter in many ways. Accu-Chek does too many "upgrades". They are like the Microsuck of diabetic test supplies. NOT end user friendly but profit oriented!

I think I had an Accucheck some years ago. I am currently using One Touch Ultra, even though my insurance won't pay for the strips.

I have an accucheck Guide which is the new model of the accucheck Connect.

I also purchased one for my wife and a spare.

This allows me to plug a USB cord into the meter and download to my computer to the accucheck 360 program. This program makes nice graphs that I can customize by date range and send to my primary care doctor.

I had to buy this meter as the VA changed the strips they sent me, and the new meter they sent wouldn't sync to my program, and according to Accu-Check was being phased out.

Did you get a bad box of strips? have you checked the batteries in your meter?

I waded through several different meter set-ups & finger stickers with little to recommend them.
My MD advised to check out the Walmart brand. Yes, in 1998 or so they really were a step up from my previous gear for comfort & convenience.

After a couple decades on various Accuchecks, I made the switch to Livongo. Stick pen is better, meter seems more accurate, and my insurance policy pays for it as well as supplies. Plus there is a raft of on line wellness linked to their program IF you want it.

Not since the mid 90's.
But, to clarify, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1985 (when I was 24).
Over the years, I had much better luck with the One Touch Ultra meter.
Luckily, for me, I now have a Tandem Insulin Pump & am using the Dexcom G6 glucose monitoring system. The G6 has helped me lower my A1C to the 6.5 to 6.6 levels, which is where my Endocrinologist wants me to be. She told me about a study where the mortality rates were much higher for Type 1 Diabetes who had an A1C under 6.5.
Apparently, mortality is bad...
Oh, and I listen to my Endocrinologist, because she's 20+ years younger than me, is very nice, and very smart. Wink

Been using the AccuCheck Aviva for 10 yrs or so. Got mine from the VA. Had to send the original one back to AccuCheck for replacement around 5 yrs ago. Other than that have had no problems at all.

Been using that stuff for years, never had a problem. How long have you had it? You might check with the pharmacy about returning it. Or take it to your doctor and have him/her check it.
