We have a 4 year old Border Collie. She never seems to run out of energy. She does like to chase a tossed tennis ball though.

The only problem I have with them is my dog like to let me know it's empty by rolling down our stair case. It's pretty heavy and makes a hell of a racket banging off of the walls and crashing onto the landing by our front door.
I swear I see him smile when he does it.

We had that when she was younger but she ate half of it.

Had a friend who rescued a beautiful pure bred blood hound from South Carolina to New York. In South Carolina he was used for a BB gun target. Bastards should be locked up for doing things like that. His name is Mattlock and hes healthy and happy now.

I have the Kong Wobbler, but prefer the Star Mark Bob-A-Lot because it has slider doors you can adjust to control the flow rate of the treats/kibble. The draw backs I experienced were that my previous dog would gnaw on the top of it and chew holes. Also, she would punch it with her paws and slam it into the wall quite hard. (I currently don't use either feeder but both are good.)

How to burn energy you ask. This is hands down the best way I've ever found to get my hounds out in the evening (when its cooler) and let them do what they were designed to do...run. I have mine rigged up to handle two 70 pounders at a time. After 4 to 5 miles of running and trotting both on and off road, they're happy as can be and completely drained. Smile Great way for both them and me to stay in shape.

My setter and retriever have long passed over the bridge (never forgotten though) and every day we had long walks about 5mi on the leashes in the neighborhood. That was like holding on to a team of horses pulling. Depending on how long or hard my day at work may have been, a couple times a week I'd also load them both up in the car and go to a middle school field as short drive away. I fielded the perimeter fence in the beginning as it was a rather large field and they absolutely loved it. They knew exactly where I was taking them in the car with their heads hanging out both sides of the car in the back seat. They'd start the howling and pleasure barking as we neared and would damn near jump out the windows. The minute we'd pull up they would flee the car for the entrance gate and fly across the school field as I could get glimpses of birds scattering in their freight-train paths. Hours of runnings and noses to the grounds reclaiming their ground rights. It wouldn't be until they would finally slowly come back to me with their tongue's hanging that we'd be on out way back home. Usual duration was about 1-2 hrs. Man, they loved their turf Smile They would return home for their dinners and sleep like babies, only to repeat each day. What a crew we were..

Regards, Will G.
