4x5What is your oldest EDC item?
Unfortunately, it's my wallet. The thing is pretty much dust by now. Probably had it close to 10 years.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

OldriderI've got several tools my Dad had, some of them Wizard's from the old Western Auto in Milford. Another is this:
It is a Crescent brand, and I've carried it everyday since the '70s. It's saved my bacon multiple times. Thanks Dad.

clubleaf206I suppose it would be the key to the front door of the house, the lock has never been changed, it is 63 years old, although this particular key is probably about 40 years old. The
oldest item that I carry every day, however, is a 1921 Morgan silver dollar, in honor of my mom, who was born that year. Miss you, mom.

sig sailorWhen my Dad was a young boy, his Dad gave him a silver dollar. This meant the world to my Dad because it was likely all the money his Dad had, or would have for the long time. They lived on a farm during the depression, so they had lots to eat but no money. My Dad still carries that silver dollar and he is now 95 years old. That dollar means a lot to my Dad, but it is not on the same level as what sigmonkey carries.

TheFrontRangeI started getting semi-serious about my EDC items in 2003 or so. About that time I bought two Lestherman Micra mini-multi-tools, one for me and one for my Dad. I don’t think he carries his, but I’ve packed mine daily since.
