Thinking about adding this to my Genesis grill. Smoking on a device not intended for smoking is a pain in the ass and involves me constantly adding chips. This means I am looking, not cooking. Would like to install this unit so I can do away with smoker box/foil packs. https://www.smokemiester.com/ Yes I know that the best thing would be to purchase a smoker, but I have two grills as it is and I don't think I can justify a third outdoor meat cooking device. Pellet tube for around $15 and pellets of your choice. Light it with a quity heat gun. Lumberjack Charhickory is my preferred. ________________________ P229 Stainless Elite P320 X-Five Legion P320 X-Carry

I’ve never seen one of those thanks for posting it. It seems like it would be easier to light and stay lit much better than the tubes I’ve been using on my pellet grill.

It's been two years since I asked about this product. Wifey bought one for me this year for my birthday. Testing it out tonight for the first time. Baby Back ribs covered in light coat of mustard and Skins Famous Rib Rub. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I've run pellet tubes for a long time when doing cold smokes or when adding smoke to my regular grill. Soooo easy and a ton cheaper than the smoke meister

I too use the pellet tube and purchase my flavored pellets at Lowes and/or WalMart....Use it for smoking meat and I also use it to cold smoke cheese.....Best $20.00 I ever spent and I found mine at Lowes.... https://amazenproducts.com/smokers/

Well it turned out great. My test run with pellets I didn't like the smell of the smoke. Not sure if it was because I used the generic sample pack of pellets the manufacturer included or if pellets just don't smell good in general. I bought a 20 lb bag of treager brand pellets, but I may just return those and stick with only using wood. The new toy made about the same smoke flavor, maybe a little more. The major difference in flavor was it had a little less of that bitter smoke flavor and I would describe it as slightly stronger, but creamier/smoother. Not really sure how to accurately describe it, but definitely an improved flavor over using the box. The other giant improvement over using the smoking box is I can leave both grill grates in place and I don't get ashes inside of my grill with this device. It did not burn for as long as advertised, but I'm guessing the six hours advertised is using pellets where as I used real wood chips, when I did need to add them it was super easy to do just open the lid and drop another handful in. I'd 100% recommend it after my first use. Now to see how it lasts being exposed to the elements 24-7/365. Bye bye smoker box. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis
