Nobody voted for Newsom in the recall. I mean nobody. It had to be less than 20%. He has to be the most maligned governor this state has ever had. He won because of the absolute and total death grip the Dems have on this state because of massive voter fraud.

Voting in this state, with no ID and ZERO verification you are even an actual person, feels like an absolute joke.

Yes, but no. Heck they don’t even enforce registration tags. I typically scrape off the old tag, use rubbing alcohol to clean the plate, apply the new tag, then cut it diagonally both ways. This essentially makes it impossible to steal the tag (without stealing the plate). This is a result of getting pulled over in a borrowed car for no tags. Anyway, when I got fresh tags time before last (so 2026 tags) for the ranch truck, I was swamped and just put the sticker in the center console. Well, last month (September) I was getting diesel and ran across the tag when I got the diesel card out of the center console. It takes a while to fill the diesel tank and I happened to have a can of lacquer thinner in the truck so I pulled the plate off and put the new tag on. Then I noticed that the month tag was August, so I’d been rolling with expired tags for a year. Humorously, the 2027 tag showed up about a week after I put the 2026 one on.

The other day a CHP buddy (who is about to retire) was out sighting a new squirrel exterminating device and brought a newer officer that he FTO’d (Field Training Officer, think mentor / initial operating experience trainer) three years ago. In the course of conversation I asked what was up with speed limit enforcement and the response was that if you’re under 80 they’re generally not going to bother you. Speed limit is typically 65 around here. The new guy said, “Well, I did ticket one guy under 80, but he was drunk.” My buddy said he wrote a guy the other day for doing 75 in a construction zone that was posted for 55, but he wrote it as 75 in a 55 to give the guy a break. The “broken windows” theory is apparently out of fashion.
