Good photos in article.

“People across Britain have been left confused this week as several ships appeared to be floating in mid air due to a rare optical illusion…”

That was good.

I've heard of things that float your boat, but never actually seen them before.

This was a well known phenomenon in the late 60's. But I'm glad a saw it for the first time, just in case I really ever do see it. Then I will know for sure it's not aliens.

This phenomenon has contributed to sightings of sea monsters.

It is not uncommon, and startling the first time you see it. But I have never seen such extreme examples as are shown in the article!

Well, this is an example of seeing things that are not actually there, esp. when you study the various tricks our brains play with our perception, lots of internet content about that subject. For better or worse (usually for better), our brains tells what what we need to know in order to survive, above all else, regardless of what we are seeing isn't the whole truth so to speak. Brain and visual science is very interesting.

I saw a picture of the floating tanker yesterday and thought to myself that Balze was probably piloting the ship. Wink
