Socialists they may be, but if they get hit in the wallet enough, and enough times, I guarantee they'll turn capitalist.

This is a touristy area, at 9:30 am. Only two blocks from Fisherman's Wharf, a nice hotel in the same block:

80-year-old man and his wife beaten during cell phone robbery in Tenderloin.

A 38-year-old man was arrested for assaulting and robbing an elderly couple of their cell phone in the Tenderloin on Thursday, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Jamil Roberts was charged with robbery, elder abuse and aggravated assault for allegedly attacking a married couple – an 80-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman – on the 200 block of Jones Street at 9:30 in the morning on Thursday, July 5.

Police said that the couple were leaving to go on a trip to China when Roberts touched the woman. When her husband tried to intervene, he was struck by the suspect and fell to the ground. Then, when his wife tried to help him up, she was struck by Roberts, too.

The 200-block of Jones St. is in the Tenderloin, which is next to Union Square, which is nowhere near Fisherman's Wharf. It's the absolute, bottom of the social structure and civilization.

London Breed ran adds in her campaign for mayor touting she grew up and still lives in a rent controlled apartment despite making over 110k as a supervisor.

I step over human waste and wasted humans daily from my trip from the bart station at embarcadero to my office and that’s in the financial district which is halfway decent area

Lol way back in my youth I went on a libo float to San Fran. We docked at Fisherman's warf and on libo one day me and a few friends went out and about in the city. Well it was getting late and we found ourselves in a seedy part of town and a taxi pulled up. The driver opened the door and asked us if we needed a ride (we were in the uniform of the day). We were like "umm we didn't ask for a taxi" and the guy just said "hop in". As he cruised back to the warf he told us were we walking around the "tenderloin" and it was not a good place to be. He dropped us off around pier 45 (near where we our ship was docked) and told us to have a good time. No charge.

Now whenever I get together with those guys we always talk about our trip to San Fran, our first Guiness at The Fiddlers Green, and of course the "tenderlion" lol. Never really though it was a real place, just a place named by some taxi driver long ago.
