armoredGoing to Jordan, info wanted.
My Son joined the Army Natl.Guard last year and is training now for Cyber Warfare at Fort Eisenhower.
He announced a few days ago that he will be deployed to Jordan next April.
I'm trying to gather info about Jordan and would like any info anybody has about Army life there.
I also don't trust everything the Army says and wonder what else I need know that is not being said.

ZSMICHAELI like Queen Noir who is running the show in Jordan. She is American born if you did not know. As far as I know Jordan is fairly stable. Just be sure and follow the local customs.

92fstechI've never been there, but my cousin and her family (with little kids) lived there for several years as Baptist missionaries, which is something that wouldn't fly in most other Muslim countries. My parents were also just there last week when their flight out of Tel Aviv got cancelled due to the missile attacks and they had to fly out of Amman. They had a pretty good experience, too.
My understanding is that the country is pretty friendly to Americans as a whole. I'm sure like anywhere, if you go to the wrong places or do the wrong things you can get yourself into trouble, but overall it's pretty safe.

It was three years ago when we spent five days there with a Viking tour group.

LS1 GTOPetra, schwarmas, dirt showers (seriously).
Was there for five weeks when the USS Tarawa tied up and the USMC went out for a camping expedition.
They all came back very dirty and hungry for ship board food.
Oh, lapis lazuli (sp?) is very affordable there too.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

18Z50I did a deployment there in the 2000’s. Great training facilities, cross border ops, fun cultural days.
Carried pistols when out on the town, and stay aware when near the Pali camps, but never felt unsafe.
