I guess it is time to limber up the good old Wrist Rocket. I lost some confidence in this when I nailed a 6 pt. buck right in the ribs in my backyard from about 10 feet. Didn't phase him a bit, he just turned his head and looked at me, a flower sticking out of his chewing jaws. I shot another at his feet, and that got him moving, but I sure was disappointed in the lack of an effect. Those white tails are tough characters!

It's a while until ammo season (walnuts and hickory nuts), but I'm sure I can find a few stones for practice.

I discovered the Wrist Rocket at an early age. I even concocted a handlebar mount for my bicycle.
Best Shot:
Several friends were standing under a tree looking up at a hornet nest, wondering what it was. I knew what it was and zeroed in. The shot (my chosen load was a marble) tore off a fist sized wad of the nest. It was covered in now unhappy hornets who immediately engaged my friends. I escaped stingless.
Second Best:
While delivering newspapers, I was beaned with a green Walnut. Looking around for my tormentor, I spotted him standing on the second story roof of his house. He began to hunt around for another Walnut which gave me the opportunity to unlimber my trusty Wrist Rocket. I aimed center mass but pulled the shot and the marble hit him just above the knee cap. This caused him to lose his balance and fall off the roof.
Very satisfying shot! If you dont own a Wrist Braced Slingshot, you owe it to yourself to get one. Technolgy has advanced the design considerably since the days on my youth. I now use iron ore pellets for ammo which I pick up for free from the LS&I RR line.

Will admit to owning and using several many years ago in my younger years....Never as good as the gentleman in the video...Now days there are magnum powered wrist rockets that have a brace that comes back behind the hand and over the top of the wrist forming a brace allowing more stability and more power for released ammo............................................ drill sgt.
