I get that a financial audit and an actual inventory audit are not the same thing, but dang.
Also, it's easier for the USMC to pass an audit since they are technically a small part of the US Navy, still...

It’s hilarious. The Corps is notorious for holding entire units in the field for days/weeks in search of a trivial missing piece of equipment.

Working with a Line Infantry Unit years ago up in NTA (Oki).
Some poor E-2 / E-3 lost his NODS. Long story short- The whole Platoon is on line looking for the Lil Guys lost gear in the middle of the night.

The Gunny is out there jumping in everyone's ass.
"What the fuck are you looking for?!!!!?"
