Where are the pictures? No high-ISO digital or night vision pics?

how do you know what's 'impossible' with today's rapidly developing technology

there are many 'UFO' videos from well-regarded sources that are currently unexplainable

in any case -- drones will have a HUGE role in future conflicts

I saw a follow-up to this story weeks ago, but just haven't made the time to post it. The FAA and FBI now believe it was not a guy in a jetpack and, instead, multiple sightings of human shaped balloons.

I don’t know mbinky. I don’t think the only country to use nuclear weapons in anger would go down without one hell of a fight.

That country no longer exists

A few years back, we were shooting an approach to LAX 24R. It was IFR and we were “between layers” of clouds about 3000’AGL east of the airport, tooling along at about 180kts. Both the FO and I caught a glimpse of something coming at us at about our 1 o’clock. It obviously happened quickly. As it wizzed past us, we both discovered (at about the same instant) it was a balloon shaped like Stuart the one eyed minion.

We were laughing so hard, I’m surprised we were able to land. The subsequent call on the radio to SOCAL approach was quite humorous as well. When we checked on with the tower, they asked us “Tell us again what you saw?”

I view it as my Andy Warhol :15 minutes...

Look at recreational/commercial drones in general. Many people feel the Chinese download everything they film. That may be a bit much, but picking and choosing what they want perhaps. Look at it like social media. Years ago people said "one day the government and corporations will have giant computers and collect information about everyone." The reply was "yeah but how are they going to get it?" The answer turned out to be the generally public would give it to them willingly on things like Facebook and others.

You can look at consumer drones the same way. "We're going to map and photograph other countries in detail." How are we going to to that? "They're going to do it for us."

(tinfoil drone pilots cap. They must be really disappointed in the things I film)

All of that is actually true no tinfoil needed. I would be freaked out about it if there was no such thing as google having already done it for everyone.

Wouldn't be the first time a militarily advanced country fell to new technology or implementation.

The French thought the Maginot Line was impenetrable until the Germans drove around it.

It does, it's just in an induced slumber. Needs to wake up soon.
