I avg 200 items a month on gb, and for the most part they are quick and painless sales,
the PITA ones are
> let me ask you 3,458 questions after I win the item, > the obvious no pay and no contact bidder >the guy that calls me at midnight EST because he thinks all gunshops etc are open across the nation at 9pm Cali time,, >the guy that wins, and sends me a note saying he can pay me next payday, 2 weeks from now, if that is ok,, >and Mr Buy It Now, who expects us to stop, add a BIN price, sometimes of his choosing, and ship it overnight for free,
> I also get a chuckle at the C&R guys (some are good, some think they can skirt state law,, as in sorry, not shipping a pistol to a C&R in Cali, or they think a firearm made in 1980 is C&R,, etc etc) including those that bought stuff when it was cheap in the late 80's and 90's but have not bothered to keep up with current sales,
Lyman, I have powder and primers that I would like to list on GB. I'd be willing to sell for less than the prices I've seen bid. Have you sold either primer or powder on GB and can you give me an idea of the proper way to ship if needed?
Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................

That's a very good idea. The deposit is then refunded, after the transaction is satisfactorily completed.
Good ideas. We have, as many forums do, a required number of posts be made before a new member has full use rights of the forum. In another way, GB could require new members post (perhaps) $100 until they have 5 positive buy feed-backs. If their first Buy is not paid for, the seller gets the deposit, the bidder is put on restricted status for 6 months -- starting after they replace the deposit.
Do not necessarily attribute someone's nasty or inappropriate actions as intended when it may be explained by ignorance or stupidity.

I was recently following an item on GB when late in the auction an NR bidder jumped on board. Shortly thereafter, all of the previously active bidders dropped out. While I didn't feel the final price was outrageous, the NR buyer certainly didn't get what we would recognize as a bargain. Out of curiosity, I followed up on the bidder's feedback rating this afternoon. The bidder now has two "F" ratings from two separate sellers for previous non-payments. I'm willing to bet the score will soon be three "F" ratings when the buyer reneges on this most recent purchase. Without doubt, there are some shenanigans at play.
Thanks for that observation and update. It definitely looks like there is some counter-insurgency troll-type activity going down there now. |

Update: The NR bidder I was referring to in my post above has had their account terminated by GB. |
