Every time I’ve had a question in regards to my truck, you’ve confirmed my suspicions or gotten me in the right spot. Need a little help and hope you can do the same for me here. My truck is a 2005 GMC 2500hd w/Duramax. For the past several months, my radio doesn’t always turn off when I exit the truck after turning the key off. I can close the door and hear the radio still on. If I open the drivers side door (the only one I’ve tried it on) and close it again, it will turn off. More recently, my radio (aftermarket) has been resetting the time (losing power?)fairly regularly after I’ve driven, turned it off and restarted it. Could be after a trip to a store or could be in the morning after sitting through the night. I think I’ve narrowed it down (without an OBD II scanner) to the door latch switch on the drivers side front door, the BCM, or the ignition. I was just putting up with it, thinking it was the door latch switch, but for the past 2 days my batteries have been dead in the mornings. Had them tested and they’re good. So now I’ve got a parasitic drain that I’m thinking could be the BCM going bad. I guess my question is if you had to start with one based off the symptoms, would you start with the door latch switch and assembly or with the BCM? Could a bad door latch switch cause the battery drain? I know those have to be flashed by a dealership if replaced. Thanks for any info you can give. CTThis message has been edited. This sort of odd electrical problem isn't really one of my strong suits. But an aftermarket radio, even if it has been in there for months or years without any problem, is a red flag. Try disconnecting all power from it and see if the batteries stay up. For more accurate parasitic drain testing: parasitic drain testing tools and tips You shouldn't have more than .050 amp (50 milliamps) draw with everything shut down. IIRC, this also has a RAP (Retained Accessory Power) module in it somewhere. This is what keeps the radio playing (and a few other modules activated) after you turn the ignition off but before you open the door. The RAP fuse is in the fuse box on the left end of the dashboard. Hope this helps.

I recall member Shifferbrains being very good with these problems.
