24 year old Carson King went to the ISU - Univ of IA football game a week ago hoping to get his sign on ESPN College Gameday. Well he did, asking for money to buy more Busch Lite beer and showing his Venmo account number. Donations began pouring in and he realized his "prank" had gotten out of hand. So he decided to give all of the money to the Univ of IA Children's hospital. After he made that public the donations really started. Annheuser Busch and Venmo said they would match what he raised and in just over a week, he raised $1.14 million for the Childrens Hospital. Everyone should be praising him, right? Everyone did, except for our local socialist, fake new outlet, the Des Moines register newspaper. They wrote an article about this, but then the "reporter," Aaron Calvin, did some digging into Kings social media accounts and found a couple of "racist" tweets from 8 years ago, when he was 16. Of course the register was "duty bound" to report this earth shaking news from 8 years ago! Of course, Annheuser Busch joined right in, and said they were "cutting all ties with Carson King". As it turns out, one of the "jokes" that Carson tweeted 8 yrs ago was something that he heard on the Tosh O show. Who is a main sponsor of Tosh O? Yep, Annheuser Busch! Then someone investigated the reporter and found LOTS of bad posts, (anti police and all the other ism's that I cant spell) from 8-9 yrs ago. But, HE still has his job at this point. Why would anyone want to do something nice for someone else when this is the way the liberal media will treat them!! Here is a link to a Change.org petition calling for an apology from the DM Register. Please sign it if you are so inclined. Carson King Petittion Also, here is the editors email address if you care to tell her what you think of her decision that old tweets from a 16 year old are somehow newsworthy. Carol Hunter, chunter@registermedia.com Des Moines Register hit after report digs up old, offensive tweets of local man who raised $1M for charity Iowa's largest newspaper is in the middle of a firestorm after publishing a report that dug up old, offensive tweets from a local man who raised over $1 million he then donated to charity. A piece published by the Des Moines Register profiled a 24-year-old Iowan native, Carson King, who became a TV sensation last weekend after he held up a sign at a football game asking people to donate money to him. He requested that they donate the funds through Venmo so he could buy his "supply" of Busch Light. King went on to raise more than $1 million and donated the money to the University of Iowa's Stead Children's Hospital. Busch Light and Venmo pledged to match King's fundraising efforts. The newspaper report, however, included a "routine background check" of King's social media history. Register reporter Aaron Calvin came across two racist jokes that dated back to 2012 when King was a 16-year-old high school student, "one comparing black mothers to gorillas and another making light of black people killed in the Holocaust."

Oh my gosh, the kid commented on a Tosh.0 skit when he was a sophomore in highschool. Cancel him!!!!! Forget he donated enough money to retire in Iowa likely to a children's hospital, that doesn't matter at all he said the N-word as a child so he mush be shamed out of existence and banned from ever working. I hate these fucktards (guess I'm canceled, I used a naughty word). Poetic Justice.... Reporter Aaron Calvin gets his own "routine background check" Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

This PR nightmare for the Register has been just spectacular to watch over the last 24 hours. The fact that the Register doubled down on their mistake with their "sorry, not sorry" Editorial explanation throwing the editor who did the article under the bus just poured gasoline on the fire. They then kept on plugging away on Facebook adding news stories like nothing happened and every single reply or comment to the article was screen shots of the racist reporter's past Twitter images and other negative Register content. AB-Inbev hasn't gotten much egg on their face out of this as they cut ties and stopped the manufacture of the special beer cans, but still are matching the donations. I was hoping Miller Coors or another big competitor would step in and do matching in October and say they support what Carson King has done more recently and own AB-Inbev for going half-woke. So far, a small brewery in Geneseo, IL is doing that and other small companies are doing T-shirts and other things and donating the proceeds. Venmo and the semi-evil parent company PayPal is still matching. Governor Reynolds (Republican), who the Register supported her opponent, along with Obama in the past, has announced 9/28 as Carson King day, the day he will start the "Hawkeye Wave" at the Iowa football game where everyone turns and waves at the overlooking child's hospital viewing area. I am taking immense joy in this. Years ago the Register published the names and addresses of all Polk County permit to carry owners under an article "Who's packing?" or something urging people to have conversations with the named individuals about gun safety before letting their kids play there, etc. All major national news is carrying this debacle today. If it bleeds, it leads.

I'm just now beginning to look at all of this, but, damn, this is great. There's hope for us yet, isn't there?

Why in the world does the newspaper think it needs to do a "routine background check" on Mr. King in the first place? God bless America.

About the Geneseo IL brewery: https://wqad.com/2019/09/25/ge...d-tweet-controversy/ It give me GREAT pleasure to see the disgustingly liberal Des Moines Register on the defensive for their incredibly stupid actions. This is the first time I've heard the phrase "cancel culture."

The Saturday game carries the news cycle on this all the way through then. I don't even know how the Register can damage control this now. Both Dems and Reps, Cyclones and Hawkeyes, cats and dogs, Glock and SIG owners are flaming them in Iowa. A full front page apology and owning up to it would be a start. Instead...silence.

If you are so inclined, please donate to the Univ of Iowa Childrens Hospital. Do it through Carson King's Venmo account so he gets the credit. He is trying for a total of $2 million by the end of September. I believe I heard he is up to $1.5 mil so a very realistic goal. Nothing would slam and humiliate the Register more than doubling the donation after their "hit piece." Its for a good cause! (My daughter worked on the design of that hospital a few yrs back.) Tucker Carlson had a great segment on this tonight. Worth watching.

Somebody's trying to do good. Quick let's dig up some mud on him! That's really more of an offense to the hospital "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Apparently, the DM Register should do a “routine background check” on their reporters. Reap the whirlwind you bastards. _______________________________________________________ despite them

So Busch Light is still going to match the donations, BUT sever ties with King. What other "ties" are they going to sever? Were they planning to supply him with beer for life? _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. Entirely beside the point. It's the fact that these leftist hypocrites demand perfection from anyone whose ideology they oppose, while themselves being just as flawed as any human beings, and it's the fact that these leftist robots will not only do this, but do this to someone who has accomplished something so great for his fellow man that the people judging him and accusing him can claim nothing in their lives anywhere near as great a service as this, yet they try to destroy him. Leave all else out of it. Doesn't matter, not one single bit. The Des Moines Register has a contact form on their website, gentlemen, and it does not require email verification. There's your bit of useful trivia for the day. They're fairly begging for an artillery barrage, and they should damn well get it

Ironic that in every instance, from "Trump's grab 'em by the pussy" to this re-telling of Carson King's 8-9 year's ago "racist posts" (repeating of a comedian's jokes) that if such things are so offensive, why dust them off and print them, play the audio and video, or repeat them around the clock for weeks, to the ears over countless millions? DJT said it once, in private, yet those who consider if "offensive" (and mostly women) have said it thousands of times. It's not about the nail...
