I get offers to buy my house. Which I dont own. I rent!
And I get 5 or 6 text messages a day with AI generated messages wanting to loan me large amounts of money. All originate from Pakistan or India.
I wish I could get my hands on whatever bastard gave up my phone number to these thieves.

I have gotten many over the years and most never list what price they are offering and if they do it is some stupid low number.

However, the other day I got one and the as is cash offer was actually really good.

I am sure there was a catch in there somewhere.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post in central Florida there is a guy who does TV commercials offering to buy your house.

I get text messages frequently wanting to buy our lake property. I respond with $2.4M and I'll walk down the driveway right now leaving everything behind and it's yours. They never seem to respond.

Got a letter in the mail just today from a realtor 100 miles away. Apparently several people have inquired about buying my home (it is not for sale). I'm tempted to call them and say, "The first person who lays $1.5 million on the table can have it."

I just started getting these texts yesterday, actually.

First of this sort. Before that it was all texts about mortgages and loans.

Answered one last week, the only reason I picked up an unknown number was that I was expecting a call about a CPAP. I was at work, had just opened. Heavy Indian accent wanting to loan me 10k. I played along, said “I just declared bankruptcy yesterday. You can still help me?”

He was all over this now. I told him I needed a bit more. He asked “How much?” And I replied “Oh, about a million and a half should do it.”

“Oh no, I can only loan you ten thousand but I have someone I can let you talk to about more money!”

My coworkers are laughing themselves sick hearing me on speakerphone with this clown. At this point I’m starting to get tired of playing this fool and said “”Cut the crap, how much can I get?” He said “Up to three hundred thousand dollars.” My reply was “”Million and a half or no deal” as I ended the call…..

A year or so ago, I had an "offer" from some idiot who wanted to buy a house I sold six years ago in another state!! He clearly was not a happy camper, but too bad--I made a point about having current information (county records would have shown the property was sold)!

The scam callers have my name, address etc. in the background I can hear a call enter. Once they start their spiel they don’t stop. I interrupted one and tried to ask question. Nope. He’d stop and go right to his script.
Call him back and rise hell? We were doing our taxes when an irate man called my phone. It took a bit but my wife, at account and I explained the scam.
When I feel mean I use a very loud emergency whistle. I have learned some Asian swear words.
Thankfully caller ID will have “scam call.” Then I just hang up and block
