old rugged crossMy new custom bumper 2025 F350
So the bumper maker sent to my truck shop (they ordered it with my approval). Yesterday was install day. They had the truck for several hours. Did four mud flaps, a bug shield to.
Went to pickup and the bumper is hell for stout. After thoroughly inspecting a few things came up. The bumper came predrilled so pretty much bolt on. It is off to the driver side 1/2-3/4".
My truck has round driving lights. This bumper has square openings. Upon further investigation there looks like there is a 4x7" square hole in the bumper that was plugged and has four weld studs in each corner to prevent cracking I am assuming. You can only see from underneath. There is no notice of the patch from the outside. So the shop and I went over this and they said they will call them to day and have them build a new one.
Thinking this was a previous out of spec. build the shop thought they could try to pass on the a buyer that would not question it? I dunno. I am not going to name the builder at this point. Hopefully they can do better the second time around.
I have never had a custom bumper built before. any thoughts?

OP’s going to wait until the builder gets it right. It’ll look much better that way.

john crusherI've built several bumpers from hell. Had one on a Dodge that ate several elk over several Winters up in the Vail Valley.
Went looking for a bumper for my FJ Cruiser and got an ARB, only knocked down deer here in Missouri (12 in the last 8 years).
If you aren't happy with what it looks or is made right, go elsewhere or lowball them on the price. If you knock down a Muley and it hurts nothing but you need for an Elk or if you need to push a cow don't short change quality for price. Like buying a scope, buy once, cry once.
