Happy Lubrication Day!! How often are you lubricating guns you don’t carry?
Guns you don’t carry but would like to be ready if the need be?
I am on a 6 month schedule for lubricating these guns. I lubricate them liberally but have a couple that always seem drier than I would like on this schedule.

I oil all of my collectible guns and rarely used guns annually using Breakfree Collector, a thicker protective oil.

They claim it protects metal for up to 5 years, but I don't mind taking a day once a year to do it, even if it's potentially overly conservative.

Once a year all the guns are lubricated.

At least once a year.

I am ashamed to say, most get oiled more than they get shot.

Clean and lubricate before putting away.

Clean and lubricated again before I carry it.

That is about it.

Before storage, thorough cleaning. Rails have a light coating of grease to avoid oil migration/ dry rail problem. Outside of pistols get a coating of auto paste wax, leaving the wax on. I clean the wax residue off before shooting again. Bores get a coating of automotive heavy gear oil. I believe it doesn't migrate as quickly as gun oil, leaving a better residual coating. Dehumidifying rod in gun cabinet. I periodically check a few to see if the bore is still wet. If any bores are dry, I'll run another patch with gear oil through all the bores. I've only done a follow up bore swabbing every few years. Fingers crossed, knock on wood, I haven't had any issues yet.

I do need to check bores of carry pistols more often. Recently found some lint in two that created a little bit of rust and pitting. Grrrr!

The firearms that I do not carry I keep in my firearms safe get cleaned and lubed yearly. My carry guns get cleaned and lubed monthly, these are kept in one of two handgun vaults in my bedroom that are on my nightstand.

I clean and oil them yearly. Pick a cruddy day in January or February, and spend some time in the basement.

I oil/lube all of my guns over a two week period each January.

Reminds me I need to get them out and do some maintenance work.

I treat them with Eezox. Lube them liberally inside and out, let set overnight, wipe off excess. I also use a coat of Renaisance wax. Unless I take them out to shoot them, that's it. I've had guns in the safe for 8 years, no signs of rust, still "slick" to operate.
