I use Tabasco sauce at least 5 times a week which is kinda weird since I never ate hot food until I was in my 20's.

Just make sure you don't get any on the grill while frying hamburgers or other food. It will vaporize and run you out of the room. Big Grin

Toxic, is it? Now I'm REALLY looking forward to it! Big Grin

I'm like Justin Wilson I like Louisiana Original Hot Sauce better. I like the Cayenne flavor more than Tabasco peppers. Justin used it in his cooking.

Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Don't put it in a flameless ration heater either.

Tabasco was the only way to make some of those things bearable....

Same here. It also has a bit less vinegar than Tabasco.

Frank's is another of my favorites.

My all-time favorite. I was introduced to Frank's when I was working as a contract programmer at BellSouth, in the Birmingham area. One of my favorite lunch places, Johnny Ray's, had a bottle on every table.

I wish we had a Johnny Ray's here in the north suburbs of Orlando.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." ^^^^The bee's knees!!!

Most soldiers I served with back in the 70s and 80s kept a 2-oz bottle of Tabasco sauce in their ammo pouch.

I'm sure that helped!

I cringe to think what the USG paid for each of those tiny MRE Tabasco bottles, probably as much as a full-size bottle in the store knowing how that all works.

I got one of the small bottles, so I can try it tonight. Nothing says so on the bottle, should I refrigerate it after opening?

My marines would get the MRE heater, put the enclosed Tabasco and add water, then toss into an enclosed space.

Yes, it would bring a tear to eyes.

Depends if your fridge has space or becomes easily hidden in there. Wink

If you're using it right, it shouldn't be around long enough to go bad Wink Seriously though, I don't think I've ever seen a bottle go bad. It has lots of vinegar and while it may separate a little, just a shake, and it's as good as new again. I know I didn't really answer your question, but around here, the stuff sits out on restaurant tables all the time.

Wish we had bottles of Tabasco when I was stationed in Korea.

ANYTHING just to give a good taste to powdered eggs and cans of C-rations.

Thanks, mutedblade. I'll leave it out, and if it starts to rumble or smoke, I have a neighbor I could throw it at.

Oh, and LS1 GTO...
