Our Little Airport (Orlando-Apopka, X04) has self-service pumps. Anybody can just drive up, stick a credit card in the reader, and fuel up 24 hours / day.

As a matter of fact, the pumps do a brisk business with the airboat guys.

We are totally self-service. There are no FBO services. None at all. We don't even have an FBO.

Our current price is $4.06 for 100LL.

Old Rugged Cross, who asked the original question, does not show a location, so I have no idea whether he is anywhere near us.

I am a HUGE fan of the canned 50:1 fuel. I would scream from the roof tops how good this stuff is compared to your local pump swill.

Lately I've been using Home Depot Powercare 50::1 fuel. $4.98 a can, 92 octane, no ethanol, uses top quality synthetic JASO FD certified oil. I'm about 98% sure that its made by the same people that make TruFuel, Echo fuel, and Stihl fuel (I believe they all are blended by the same company).

Good stuff. Love it.

BT, that is with in a buck or two of the price of the VP fuel. 94 octance non-e. I think I paid $17 for a gallon. Might try it just to compare.

Heads up for Stabil users, check out Pri-G for gas and Pri-D for diesel and kerosene, much better!

I am a 90 octane ethanol free user with Stabil in my small engines.

Just noticed another local station has added ethanol free but 87 octane. Depending upon it's cost may start filling up the Expedition with that.

Used to run a lot of VP fuel in my motorcycle racing days. Great stuff!!! If you need the volume they are a great option. If you are a homeowner with minimal 2 stroke needs it can go stale. I only have an echo weed wacker.combo tool and a blower running 2-stroke so I buy the small containers. My lawnmower and snowblower are 4-stroke. I buy 5 gallons of super pump fuel at a time and put stabil in it and it lasts most of the year no problem. Ethanol is evil IMO.

I buy that Husqvarna fuel in a can 50:1 mix for my cheap Husqvarna trimmer and haven't had any issues. I use the trimmer infrequently and that stuff seems to have a great shelf life. 4 years in and haven't don any maintenance on the trimmer, still fires right up.

I use the Stihl premix it is more like $50.00 per gallon. I used half gallon to brakin my new Stihl for a 2 year warranty.

Now I used nonox gas and only Stihl oil at 50 to 1 rate I have used this oil for over 30 years with very little problems.

The stihl premix is $30 a gallon. The VP is like $18 a gal.
Roughly $7-$9 a qt.

I generally keep a can of the Stihl premix on hand. My usual routine for large jobs is to mix up a gallon of ethanol shit fuel and Stihl oil. I'll use that through out most of the job. When fueling the last tank of the job I'll use the premix. That way it's stored without ethanol in the lines.

Having a can of premix is also nice for emergency storm clean up. No need to mix anything before use. Fuel and go. Typically I'll store a quart of premix and bar oil in the case with my saws. For emergencies I can grab and go. Start work and send someone to get a gallon or two to mix with the oil I keep in my cases as well.
