Striker in waiting |
Analysis Paralysis has set in and I need assistance breaking free... I've used a Plantronics Voyager Legend for years. Two of them, in fact. And the current one is starting to have major connectivity issues, so I'm re-thinking things a bit. iPhone 12 Pro. Primary use of the BT device is phone calls, but with earbuds, I'm sure other uses (music, video, etc.) would increase. Equal priorities are reliable connectivity and phone call audio quality. Battery life and form factor come in a very close second and third in that order. I've narrowed my best options down to Apple's Airpod Pro vs. Jabra Elite 7 Pro. From everything I've read, the Airpods win for connectivity, but the Jabra units win for call quality, battery life, and form factor. At least one major firmware update is already scheduled for early 2022 (maybe sooner) from Jabra to address some less than stellar observations about ANC and mono functionality. What say you all? Anyone with direct experience with either product care to weigh in? Thanks in advance. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

I went from the Legend to the AirPod Pros. Definite upgrade with the noise canceling. Call quality reported back as very good. Battery life is good since they charge every time you put them in the case. No experience with that Jabra.

I am a big fan of the AirPod Pro and their noise cancellation ability. I will sometimes sit in Starbucks or the cigar shop for over an hour with my AirPods in, I’m often shocked at how loud the noise is when I remove them. Another nice feature, is that you can program them to turn the noise cancellation “off” with the press of one of the sides if you need to speak to someone. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

My wife is a Apple fan and picked up the Pros, one of them died recently....not sure the issue yet but she was expecting more out of them. Note: she tends to run very hot or very cold in her opinion of things

I’ve had both Jabra Elites and Airpod Pros. I prefer the Airpods simply for comfort alone…Jabras just didn’t fit my ear very well. "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. I bought the Anker Soundcore P3 to take to the gym and they are really good, almost as good as my Airpod Pros, but at 1/3 the price. Noise canceling is strong, sound is good, have a charging case like the Airpods

Told cops where to go for over 29 years… |
I recently got the AirPod Pros and have been very impressed with sound quality. They definitely rival full headphones and I can’t believe the sound I get is coming from an earbud. As already mentioned, the noise cancellation is great and for music the sound spatialization is amazing. Battery life is claimed to be good for about 4 hours. I’ve yet to go that long so I can’t confirm. Apple says 5 minutes charge will give an hour of use and the case is good for about 5 charges before it would need to be charged. They do recharge quickly while in the case. Got mine at Costco on sale for $189 What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I've got the Airpod Pros and I really like them. Sound is good, but I wouldn't call it great. Noise cancelling is also good. They are secure enough that I've never had them fall out while working out. but, I do have two issues with them. 1) When I first put them in, noise cancelling is excellent, but after a few minutes the headphones back out ever so slightly and there is a very noticeable drop in the effectiveness of the noise cancelling. I have to keep pushing them back in. If I'm listening to music I don't notice it as much, but with podcasts or audio books its pretty noticeable. 2) They work flawlessly with my iphone, but my macbook air seems to forget they exist about half the time I go to use them with it. I have not been able to figure this one out I just end up having to pair them with the computer again. ____________________ I Like Guns and stuff

I love my AirPod Pro earbuds. I use them mainly on long phone calls and when mowing my 3 acre yard on my Kubota Zero Turn. Who could ask for anything more? Wait, that was Toyota. No experience with the Jabra, but upgraded to Airpod Pros last Spring and love them. Use them mowing and for calls and when I want to watch something on my iPad and want to tune out distractions. The noise cancelling is great. I’ve tried the Klipsch, Jabra, and Anker versions. Nothing, for me, came close to the Air Pod Pros. I love my Air Pod Pro. Totally worth it, IMO. I use them to dial into WebEx meetings from my remote office (wherever the hell I am at the moment) multiple times a day. “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”—H.L. My Time is Yours |
I have the jabra elite 75t and my son has the airpods pro. The jabra fits me better and does not have that extra appendage. Mine does not have wireless charging capability. I can say that I can probably go a full 2 weeks without having to charge the case to charge the buds. Sound quality is very close on both. God, Family, Country.

I was using a Plantronics Bluetooth headset before I got the AirPod Pros. I LOVE the Airpods. I have been living in the zoom world with them for the last 20 months and have even used them to present online seminars to over 100 people. Never had a complaint on the call reception. And they sound pretty good for music too!!! Do, Or do not. There is no try.

Of the two types of Jabra brand headsets used at work, neither can get their volume controls to work properly with Windows 10. They're either off or loud, nothing between.

Do you need/want the noise cancelling? If not, I'd suggest looking at Aeropex bone conducting headphones. I picked some up the other day and they have remarkable sound quality while still allowing you to hear what's going on around you. I haven't made/taken a call with them on yet, so I can't speak to that though. These are some pretty nifty little things and you can hardly tell you're wearing them. Of the two you've listed though, I can only speak to the Airpods Pro. I wear mine when mowing the lawn, flying, or anywhere where noise cancelling is desired. Really happy with them. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.
