This statement brought to you by my 84-year-old "boss for the weekend."

He's a great man, a true southern gentleman, and a treat to work with.

For 15-20 minutes, he'll outwork me. Then he'll rest for a while.

What started with "crank this trimmer so I can trim these bushes!" turned into a few hours' worth of tree trimming, brush stacking, tractor driving, grass mowing, and swing building. Then a good meal and some good sleep.

He said to me this morning, "I don't think we'll work next weekend. You wore me out, supervising from the chair is hard work!"

I'm 76 and am torturing myself to downsize just about everything. I can not and do not want to take care of all the things like I have done for years. Age, physical condition, health all seem to make this happen.
Presently I am fixing up my house, going to sell off personal property so I can relocate to a place with less work to do.
It's hard to draw a line on house fixing and sale potential.

I love working with C.B. He's energetic in spirit, if not in body, and he makes every task a little bit of fun.

There's a lot to learn from this gentleman. And I'm happy to be learning from him.

82 and definitely slowing down. Headed to the range this morning in spite of the heat.

I know a 70 y.o. that thankfully has unlimited funds to pay for numerous people to care for a pet, lawn and shrub care, weekly errands and chauffeuring to the doctor appointments.

But he still squeaks in a "favor" or two from family or friends.

I found a great dependable young man to cut my grass and trim with a weed Wacker. He changes $50 and earns more than that on this yard (size). We still do our vegetable and flower gardens.

That is good advice for any age.

I remembered today something else C.B. said last weekend: "If I had the energy now that I had when I was 80, I'd be in good shape!"
