There are a bunch of NOVAns here, and stuff least one member is a Loudoun County Deputy.

The officers are injured with non-life threatening wounds. If you've a mind to do so, offer a pray for them at your Christmas services.

Two deputies shot responding to domestic dispute in Virginia

STERLING, Va. -- Authorities say two sheriff's deputies have been shot while responding to a domestic dispute in northern Virginia.

The injuries are serious but not expected to be life-threatening. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office tweeted that the shooting occurred in Sterling, which is about 30 miles northwest of Washington. "Further details will be released as they become available," the office said on Twitter.

WRC-TV in Washington reports that the shooting occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the deputies were shot on the 46,000 block of Hollow Mountain Place, CBS affiliate WUSA-TV reports.

A suspect is in custody and WUSA-TV writes that the suspect was not shot. Kraig Troxell, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, says there is no threat to the community.

About three miles from my house. I live in the ghetto part, this is actually a nicer area. $600-700k homes. But domestics have nothing to do with neighborhood, just random bad luck.

Glad the asshole didn't kill them, I hope he gets the book thrown at him. Heal quickly and fully officers.

Article with more info, guy was fighting with 19 y/o daughter, no surgery required.

I know guys who worked with these two deputies and I'm told they have a long road for recovery.

A donation page has been setup for them to assist. I hope sharing the link is ok.. Donation Page

From the article, when the "citizen" grabbed his gun, the officers tried using a Taser instead of just shooting him.

Yup they tased him and got shot in return. I’m sure all the media scrituhybthat goes into police shootings these days played a role. Hopefully they will recover quickly.
