She was a beauty and her name was fitting for such an exquisite girl. My condolences Jim.

17 years and I bet she had a great life. You did all the right things and she lived a long happy life.

Very sorry for your loss. My Brittany will turn 14 this month. She is still in good shape, but I know that she is statistically getting up there and is likely to leave us in the next year or two. I am not looking forward to that day.

Jim,

Very sorry to hear of this. I always enjoyed seeing the picture of Merlot on your posts.

I've had to put to sleep 4 dogs in my life, and it has always been very hard.

I currently have four miniature poodles that I love very much. There is only one cure I know of for losing a beloved dog - and that is another one. I know a great miniature poodle breeder in Virginia if interested - I have had six poodles from her.

Merlot was very lucky to have such a great Dad. When you are ready, I hope another pup will join your family!
