Did you get trick or treaters this year?
I’m at the Ben Avery shooting center north of Phoenix.

A few wives had Halloween shirts on and we’re passing out candy.

No little kids. A perfect evening, we had friends over for dinner.

We had our usual handful of little goblins. I now have my usual 30 full size candy bars to deal with. Darn it! Smile

None here again, even the two children one floor below me in the building didn't stop.

Nope. They pretty much cancelled it due to Zeta. Trick or treating is now standing in line for MRES and lots of other free stuff from FEMA.

None like every year. I'm a bit out of the way and the houses are way too spaced out in between.
No streetlights and kids would have to be dropped off at each driveway.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

We never have any in my neighborhood so this year we went to a niece's house and passed out candy while they took their kids Trick or Treating .

We set up a picnic table in front of the porch, and passed out candy at social distance. It was the best night out in years, but we only had 25-30 kids, which is about 20% of normal.

We took the kiddo to his buddy’s house in the next subdivision over from us....walked around two blocks and he has a full pumpkin. All the kids were having a great time! The costumes were very cool.
A little girl who couldn’t have been more then two was walking near my wife, who had on a witch hat with lights one it, the little girl just reached up to touch the hat. Never said a word, just the cutest thing.

There was a whole family dressed like the baseball team from “a league of their own”... my wife yells “there’s no crying in baseball” funny stuff.

This is a gated community and it was nice and safe, about every other house had lights on and was giving away candy.

We had probably 60 or so come. We sat in the driveway with a bowl they could grab a pre packaged bag of candy. My neighbor was only expecting 30 or so and ran out.

Is that more, less, or about the average?

Had one show up since '95.

Had to eat all the chocolate myself.

Not a one this year, and the weather was decent. Must be COVID fears.

Probably about 60 which is roughly half the usual crowd. Social distanced using a 6" pvc pipe that we slid bags of candy down. The real little ones had to exhibit some bravery as we had a skeleton with outstretched hands at the bottom of the pipe where they had to hold their candy bags and you could see them thinking about that! Fun to watch.

We had about 100. Thats 1/3 of normal. I wore a hazmat coverall with paint respirator and gloves. This year our delivery system was a large PVC pipe that slid the candy out to the kids.
Sadly, parents told me that most house were dark and, while some were decorated, had signs saying “See us next year.” We’re one of the premier spots in the city but parents were driving their kids around just to find someone open. A number of parents thanked us as safely getting the kids out of the house was hard.

We had two, in the past 3 years they were the only ones. We live in a rural area.
