I got way less than usual this year. Now I got a bunch of candy to 'dispose' of. Was hoping for one last teen to give it all to later in the evening, didn't get one. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I’m off the beaten path and discourage visitors because I don’t want to try to prepare for odd one or two who would stop, but I overlook a residential area that’s usually very busy this time of Halloween night. I’m not seeing any of the usual activity despite the fact it’s clear and a balmy 32° while usually it’s in the teens and snowing. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. That is why it is says more/less than average. Some people don't see any, any year. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

We had some trick-or-treaters here, but fewer than previous years. Our neighborhood is usually crawling with people until well after 8:30. This year, we were done by 7:45, and only had one family between 7:30 and 7:45.

About 15-20% of what I had last few years. But the all of them were very polite and sure would have liked to see a bunch more of them. Dances With Tornados |
None. Zero. We had a big ice storm Monday which was extremely early. All the trees still had all their leaves and the freezing rain accumulated on all those. All that extra weight made it look like a Tornado came through. We tend to get freezing rain instead of snow. Some areas have had no electric since then. I was fortunate to not lose power. There are a lot of electric service crews from multiple states away working to restore power. Our neighborhood facebook had big online discussions about Halloween and the vast majority said it was best to reschedule or cancel Halloween this year. I think whoever did go trick or treating went to the nearby Churchs for Trunk or Treat. There is still a lot of debris in yards and walkways and its just a bit dangerous to traipse around in the dark wearing costumes that obstruct vision. There is some risk in broken limbs falling. I miss the kiddos, I just love the youngest ones in their costumes. 2020 has been a real bitch of a year that just keeps kicking. .

I was in the same neighborhood, maybe a quarter of normal. Even had four year olds in masks (medical, not scary) come by. Just to be extra safe I didn't handle any candy. Dumped directly from bags into a bowl and used a large coffee cup to scoop into kiddies bags. I am guessing that the stupid virus has something to do with the reduction, weather was on par or better than usual here. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Last year the weather was horrible and had just a handful of treaters. This year delightful....we had YUGE crowds of kids and families. 0:01

Not a soul. First Halloween we've had in years that wasn't rainy. Shame.

Not here, but I just learned that a town down the valley prohibited trick/treating this year. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. Together we have resisted the trap of appeasement, cynicism, and isolation that gives temptation to tyrants.” — George H. W. Bush

We don't ever get any at our very rural house. Our fire department does an annual community Halloween Party. We usually serve hot dogs, donuts and cider and have a costume judging contest. We usually have 100 people attend. This year, we were unable to have the party so we announced we would be giving out bags of candy at the station between 5 and 7 p.m. We had a grand total of 12 kids come by. They got a LOT of candy. __________________________ Writing the next chapter that I've been looking forward to.

We didn't, which is normal on the farm (even though a different farm this year) - but my buddy texted me the video below, said this was the scene around 5:00 PM. He estimated about 700 - 20 large bags of candy. About normal or maybe slightly larger crowd this year, he said. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

We had a ton. Great weather coupled with a neighborhood organized party meant we ended up with probably 150+. Bounce house, hay rides, a cotton candy machine, and a chili cook-off kicked off the evening. One of the wives even commented “I feel like we’re in a movie”. It was great, just what we all needed in a year like this. The kids all had a blast. This message has been edited. Last edited by: SigM4, Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.
