I've had a Casio AWG-M100 watch for several years now. I wear it for everything. Night out with the wife? Yep. Doing yardwork? Yep. Doesn't matter how dirty/sweaty/fancy/whatever....I have the watch on.

So I'm kinda thinking of relegating it to strictly sweaty activities now, and having a nice watch that doesn't have funk/dirt in its nooks and crannies.

Current Casio is solar powered and gets atomic clock updates, which I like.

Could I get some recommendations from the hive mind on a nicer watch? Say for under $200 or so?

Muchas gracias in advance.

Does it have to be a Casio?

If you're open to a non-Casio, and an automatic, I'm a fan of the Seiko "DressKX" line as a great dressier everyday wear watch in that price range. Something like the SRPE57.

I don't know beans about watches. Does "automatic" mean it doesn't need batteries?

Yes. It's powered by the movement of your wrist while worn. If it sits for more than a couple days without being worn it'll wind down, but then you can just give the crown several twists to wind it initially before setting it and putting it on for the day.

Seiko has some nice dressy options.
Quite a few in the Presage line, but may break your OP budget.

Casio MDV-106. Analog dial diver style watch. Runs on a battery. $49 on Amazon today. Not really a dress watch but looks decent enough to not be ashamed of for niceish occasions.

$200 gets you into the lower-tier Citizen watches, which are solar powered (not radio set though). The Classic and the Weekender are sharp for a upscale basic look.

Dave T. might be able to get you a deal... just thinking.

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

Definitely give Dave a call/email. He may have some brands you hadn't considered.

I'd never heard of Sternglas & it made for a great 60th birthday gift for my dad.

Allen, I have several watches that you could pick from and I'll send off to you, if you're interested.

I would talk to David Truong about a Sternglas. They make some great watches and with his forum member discount is likely in your price range. Nice auto watches. I have one and like it.
