I tried Imgur. The site seems to do everything I need (just post photos in a WTS). But it took me a few tries to figure out how to use it properly. The first photo I posted was HUGE, and I was not able to delete it.

I signed up years ago and have had zero problems with them. I do NOT pay for the "premium" option as just the basic works fine for me and has always been free.

I have had an account with them for years, and like many other Sigforumites this spring I began receiving the disappearing photo issue that plagued Sigforum's 2 meme threads. The photo would post and stay up approximately an hour, but 75% of the time it'd disappear. It's disappearing on Postimages end not Sigforum's end as depicted in this screenshot of my Joke folder:


Much like other free sites before them they're having reliability problems (e.g. disappearing photos, inability to login, login but unable to view files, etc.). For example, Photobucket used to be the go to free photohosting website, and they had reliability problems too right before they laid off most of their staff and moved to a pay only model.

Since I have about 1000 photos on Postimage, I looked into paying and they only accept cryptocurrency with is a deal breaker for me. Additionally, only taking cryptocurrency could be a move to hide cash flow from creditors.

Why screw around with “free” photo hosting sites?

ImageShack for me. $20/year (5.5¢/day), nice album photo organizer, hosts avatars. No ads. I’ve used ImageShack for a decade.

Of course I want free, but I have gotten tired of all the crap and finally am paying for ImageShack and am happy. It is not that expensive and works.
