I kneel for my God,
and I stand for my flag
posted
The last two months have been a roller-coaster ride with one of our longtime supervisors leaving unexpectedly for a job opportunity with another county.

I applied for the position and went through three rounds of interviews, with the field narrowing down with each interview to where it was down to two of us for the final panel. It was announced a week ago Friday that I got the position starting tomorrow, but I won't officially take the helm until Wednesday because I'm off for the Holiday.

With it comes added responsibility and increased liability, but it also comes with a $1,000.00 a month pay increase, which means more money into my retirement, plus a couple more vacation days a year. We have a good team and I'm excited for the opportunity.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
