My wife and I just returned from a 7 day Disney cruise on Saturday. After the cruise we spent 2 days at Disney world.
Even though the weather in the Caribbean was not the greatest we had a great time.
It seems like yesterday we were getting on the ship, that was 10 days ago. The week before we left took sooooo Looooong I thought it would never end, now it is over.
Am I the only person to experience this or are there others out there who go through the same thing.

PalmYes I think this was proven through Einstein's theory of relativity. Vacation time does move faster. It's a fact of science.

sigspecopsAll time spent away from work moves at an accelerated speed. As soon as I leave work on Friday evening I'm thrown into a warp speed tunnel that throws me out into Monday morning.

My wife and I used to take two weeks.
We own a Disney Vacation Club and when we lived in NJ we used to come to FL for two weeks. It was the same thing. After a week we would say "we still have a week left" then the next thing you know it I was back sitting at my desk at work wondering what just happened.

vinnybassThe speed of time is not constant. It's variable based on conditional perception.

This is true. Very first one we took was 7 days, wasnt enough. We did 10 next time and we were ready to go by day 9. Next time we did 9 and have determined its the perfevt amount of time for us. 2 travel days + 7 full days.

PrefontaineMy annual trip to Laguna Seca raceway. The minute I’m onboard the aircraft I am the happiest I am all year. The minute I’m back at SFO 7 days later to fly back home, is the worst fucking day of my life.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

armoredI had the same dilemma.
I took a 10 day vacation to Thailand earlier this year, I never really recovered. I never call off of work but found myself doing just that.
Finally I woke up a few hours before my work start time, typed a resignation letter to my boss and work contacts, sent it, and went back to bed after informing my wife that I just quite.
My Boss called with in minutes and asked if I would stay doing only firearms training and on the days and hours I wanted.
I agreed to this, putting my work load at about 1 day a week or 1 week every few months if I need to go out of town. Even this I grumble about.I will probably throw in the toweland stop working completely sometime this year.
In August I turned 66 and was able to put in for full SS benefits.
HOW SWEET! VACATION LIFE!

My wife and I went to Fiji for our honeymoon. Since it was so far away (10 hour flight from LAX) we decided to go for 2 weeks. Best decision I ever made. We are heading to Playa del Carmen in November. We usually do Sat - Sat for vacation. I said eff it, we are leaving on Thursday and returning on Saturday (9 days later).

ZSMICHAELIt depends on whether you vacation with small children or just with your significant other. For many people dealing with family members in a confined hotel room is more stressful. My Dad was always glad to be back at work.
