I'm not that seasoned, mid-fifties, but I already suffer from CRS to some extent. For those that don't know the acronym, that's "can't remember shit". BUT, I have noticed that this year and last I have very little difficulty with moving the year forward whenever written. It's 2018, I know it, and I write it. It seems that in years past I'd suffer for days or weeks unintentionally writing the old year whenever I wrote a date until it finally sunk in. I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

For the first month of a new year I write the previous year on all correspondence. I'm testing everyone else you see. A test, yes that's it, a fine test indeed...

Never sure if you're serious, but MAYBE I wasn't clear. I know I am not alone in tending to write the wrong year for the first few days or weeks of a new year. But it seems I don't have that issue as of the last couple of years, even while some other areas of my mental faculties may be suffering a bit. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed a change in this particular issue (using old year out of habit) as they have aged.

If tomorrow/someday never comes, how can it even be 2018 already? ... myth busted

Just turned 59 today and I've done this past years. I havn't had to write the new year yet. The year is young.

I write very little, nearly no checks, but have labeled a few docs and pics on the laptop with the correct date. 2018 is the Year Of Awareness, it seems.

At 70... I think... I'm seasoned but need to be turned over to do the other side. Love using fountain pens still. Er, what was your question again? Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club! USN (RET), COTEP #192

LOL You were clear. Actually, I was writing 2018 when it was still 2017. But, I think it might be that we don't right the date as often as we did in the past, and maybe it does not become "habit", or we see the date more than we used to in print and on phones and such, that we "get up to speed" faster. Or, it could be aliens. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!

I've had CRS since about the day I popped out of the oven, so, no: Becoming a "seasoned citizen" hasn't been a problem in that particular respect "America is at that awkward stage.
