Forgive my ignorance, but I'm posting this on behalf of a fellow shooter on another site. I advised him to look in to sigforun on a certain thread, and to his amazement the system refused to accept/acknowledge his IP address.

Can somebody here please explain this to me?

Maybe he could send you a screen shot of what happened when he tried to go to the URL in question?

I can access the forum from any number of countries via VPN. It could be his ISP or network disallowing the "evil gun" websites. As suggested, let's see a screenshot and we can perhaps help further.

I'm betting it's from a restricted IP meaning the provider of services to SF or SF itself has some blocked IP ranges from out of the country.

But thats just a wag, either that or his (requestor) IP has been flagged by service providers as a spammer or unsafe for some reason and he's blacklisted..

or as WXdave said his countries IP is blocking SF

VPN as suggested may let him through

Was he on a private or public internet system? If the latter, it could be that system doesn't allow access to gun related content.
