I've broken a few 3/8" bars. Have yet to kill a 1/2". I've been known to use a pretty long piece of pipe when necessary, and on a few occasions a floor jack.

Ive broken several. All Craftsman. They were a bad design and not very strong. The newer design has a stronger head that is WAY stronger. I've never broken one of the new style (like the Tekton pictured above)

Battery 1/2 impact guns have like 1500 foot pounds these days and where its at to remove a stuck nut. Assuming you have clearance and can fit it on there. WAY better than a breaker bar.

not broken any, but mostly did gun stuf

barrel stuffed in a vice, in a press, and a breaker bar (3/4 craftsman) with a 3 foot pipe,

or a M14 or M1 barrel clamped in a vice and parallel jaw alloy wrench with the same 3 foot pip breaking the receiver loose,

still have all 3

I haven't broken any breaker bars. I have Craftsman(USA), Proto and Snap-on of various sizes.
I have used cheater bars with them and even lump hammers in tight spots.
