I developed an interest in the 357 SIG cartridge and came here for info. I bought a non-rail 229 357 SIG and was a lurker for a while before joining in 2009. Also picked up a non-rail 40 S&W 226 shortly after. I have barrels/mags/springs for 9mm, 40, and 357 SIG for both. A 365 little brother joined the family several years ago. This is the first place I check for news every morning as I trust it more than other sources. I've also received valuable advice from the awesome library of knowledge here over the years.

July 7, 2004: I was about one year from my first retirement. My older son had taken some shooting classes, had a Buckmark, I bought a Ruger Mk II. We were interested in service pistols; I remembered that the Sacramento PD had decided on the SIG P226, googled to find out more about it, found SigForum. Through SF I found that Bruce Gray was going to be giving pistol shooting classes with service pistols in the Sacto area. I signed up, but then ended up going to Biloxi after Katrina instead. I bought an Sig P229 even though Bruce advised me not to, had Bruce put in a Bar-Sto 9 mm barrel, and I remember distinctly how good it felt to be wearing that pistol in its holster on my hip. To go from being a little gun-shy to feeling confident in shooting it. Then with the “run-and-gun” classes feeling confident in moving while shooting. I bought a W German 226 and Bruce has done work on it over the years, it’s a fantastic shooter now. I’m still in touch with some of the shooters in those first classes, they’ve become friends. JAllen became a friend; nhtagmember; and some others. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

I had just gotten my CPL and was looking for a polymer pistol. I think Glocks are ugly plus was going to reload .40SW and didn't want to experience Kaboom so settled on a 2340. Looking for info on sigs and found this place.

Mark123 and I were on a computer forum and he found out I had a 226. He dragged me over here. It's all HIS fault! He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

If I remember correctly after reading a review by Massad Ayoob on the Sig Sauer P226 Blackwater I decided that since it came with 5 magazines that would be my first Sig. I found one at Collectors Firearms and drove immediately to Top Gun Range to shoot it. I liked it so much that I drove back to Collectors Firearms and bought another before driving home with my two new Sigs with the 10 magazines. I joined Sigforum that day or shortly afterwards. Learned a lot here on the forum. Regards to all. And thank you Para. "The more People I meet, the more I like Dogs."

I bought a two tone CPO P226 in 40S&W and started looking for technical information on the internet. That led me to the Sig Forum's "SIG Armorer" where I spent most of my time for quite a while. One day on a whim I checked out the "Lounge" and never looked back. I was amazed at the depth of knowledge on any an all conceivable topics. Best forum ever. Bob Carpe Scrotum

There was a nickel plated P229 that I could not find in any store or any website. I joined the forum to get info on it. Sure enough a member directed me to a site that had some from an LEO special order over run. Years later it was a gun of the month and then a special order available option as well. I can honestly say almost 25 years later this is the only forum that I take serriously. I kind of grew into a man learning from forum members. First In Last Out

Got interested in SIG pistols and found this place hoping to learn about SIGs. Had three SIGs at one point. None today. I decided to try a Glock pistol because of the Glock thread. Have purchased six since then. I visit this place almost daily to see what's shakin'.

I was referred here by another member from pirate4x4 back when it was raucous and impolite. I proceeded to piss the bed here. I learned my manners and have enjoyed this culture ever since. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

I was having an issue with a particular brand of .45ACP ammo not chambering in one of my Sig 1911s. Came here and learned about the plunk test. Any dog can be a Guide Dog if you don't care where you're going. NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

Because I didn’t want a Glock. A couple of older guys I knew was on here and the S&W forum. They urged me to join both. When I got into LE, we supplied our own weapons. All the other cops had Glocks. I didn’t like them, and started shopping for something different. Didn’t want a Beretta so looked a SIG and the 5906. Actually shot the P226 better. So when I joined this forum I actually wanted to learn more. Haven’t shot a 226 to speak of in 5 years. I got a Glock. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

Wow, July 27th, 2002…almost 23 years! My wife and I had gotten engaged a few months earlier, and had also just moved into our first apartment. I had purchased my 220 back in 97, I don’t know what exactly brought me to SF, maybe a search on my old PC, using dial up internet?

Had recently found a P220 in .38 Super and thought it was rare (it wasn't). Heard about one in 7.65 later and wound up with a few of those as well.

I was March 4, 2001. I had joined the S&W forum the day before. I had bought a 9mm 229 and didn't know the difference between the 228 and 229. I now have a 228, and a P6. The 228 was a result of the generosity of 12131. I would work 6 more years before retiring and getting the chance to shoot more.
