I drink 6-7 cups a day, with plenty of caffeine.

“Drinking at least six cups of coffee every day could decrease your risks of early death, a new study has revealed.

Researchers say that those who drink six or seven cups of coffee per day are 16 percent less likely to die from any disease over a 10-year period than those who never have a cup of Joe.

Coffee has long been linked with combating heart disease, cancer, dementia, diabetes and depression.

The researchers, who hail from various institutions including the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health, say they hope their findings provide further reassurance that coffee can be part of a healthy diet…”

If that's the case, my Diet Coke habit must be dang near as good. Obviously, the concentration is lower, but I can increase volume as needed. Razz

Could be something to do heart conditions, a reason some of us never drink coffee.

Lies. I have a normal cup in the morning and a half cup for lunch everyday. I skipped last Saturday and had a raging headache from caffeine withdrawal. Had some tea and it went away. I used to do that many cups and it was hell on my body.

^^^^^^

I thought it reduces the incidence of kidney stones. Of course, that could have been last week's study.

Coffee is actually thought to decrease the incidence of kidney stones.

I love me coffee. 3-5 cups a day, fresh brewed. Recent studies show clear benefits to the liver. And also more recent studies show benefits for heart health. Coffee is an antioxidant, for what that's worth.

EDIT: Check with your doctor if you have any questions about drinking a lot of coffee. (my sister just told me to put that in here, as she is an MD, and some people should not drink a lot of coffee).

Sure but just drink a few glasses of water a day. Keep the urine looking clear and you are absolutely not dehydrated. Its that simple.

So do I. The Mrs does not drink that much. Maybe 3 cups, all day.

My coffee mug holds about 5 cups, I empty it at least once and do a refill. Later in the day, do it again.

My 80 year old body seems to do well on it.
