Stainless Steel to Granite glue or epoxy?
Asking for the hive's advice yet again...

Problem at hand...
Polished Granite tomb stone + flower saddle + hill top + wind = saddle eventually blows away. Stakes in the ground and wire tried by someone before... not weed-eater friendly.

Wife wants me to "just glue on some hooks" so she can tie down a flower saddle... her parent's head stone.

I can find stainless steel flat backed hooks but what best to secure them to the polished slick stone? I doubt the self stick adhesive that comes on them will last.

Need permanent outdoor adhesive. Wish no damage done to the stone of course.

I only need 4 dabs of glue. I don't wanna have to redo this in a couple years...
Your advice?

3M VHB double stick tape may work - the heavy duty industrial/automotive stuff. Amazon or a hardware store should carry it.

Alternatively, gorilla glue (clear or white - white or original versions foam up (expand), but the clear doesn’t) would probably work. Epoxy would as well, but I don’t have one to recommend - probably a 5 minute variation or some silicone product.

Gorilla Glue is a pretty good product!

Middle Tennessee- it will hold up to the heat & cold in your area.

Don’t use too much as it expands while drying and leaves a hard foam.
Nothing that a solvent won’t remove.

If you want permanent, can you skip the hooks and glue the flower holder directly to the stone?

They make up fresh and swap them out a few times a yeas, holder and all. The wire holders rust if left a long time.

Well I had glue or epoxy on the brain...

I actually have some 3M 4229P on hand. Had to find it, might give it a try. It is for auto trim mostly I think so...

Thanks!

5200 is a marine product, should be durable exposed to the weather.

5200 is a great product but probably not the best one for this. You would likely be better served by one of the faster curing products like 4000UV. easily available. But this family of 3M products have a color and not sure that would be ok in this? if you need it to be colorless you might be better served with 730UV which is clear but probably a bit harder to find.

Shoe Goo. It will peel off clean with no damage to the granite when you decide to remove it.

I actually used JBweld to glue a fastener to the underneath of granite counter tops for an anchor for the dishwasher. It worked. But it was u Dee earth and it didn’t matter there was a glob of it

This! Cannot think of a better option for what you want to do! Available at Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart for sure... and most likely on Amazon also.
