I regularly milk DirecTV in this fashion, and was already getting $7 off Cinemax, plus $35/month of additional discounts, but this thread prompted me to reach out again since it's been awhile.
I now have an additional $21 of discounts on top of the discounts I already had.

I just spoke with a friendly although unintelligible young woman who gave me $5 off a month of HBO for 6 months, and $5 off a month total bill for 12 months.

So in real money that's like 500 rounds of 9mm.

They started off with denying there was any type of promotion

But said they would take $55 off of my monthly bill because I qualified for the discounts???

How ever they want to qualify it works for me

They also indicated if I had ATT cell service they could take $15 off of the monthly bill

I already don't pay for my cell service so I didn't qualify for the $15, but the overall discount is a great Christmas surprise

Grrrr. All I got was a Middle Eastern guy who I could barely understand trying to sell me AT&T cell phone service and saying the only discount was $5 off HBO or something. I'm not really sure what he was saying.

We've had DirecTV for about 4 years. I'm not one who usually calls them unless we have an issue but I did about 2 years ago.

When I called last night, I was on hold for 4 minutes and talked to Steve who was US based. My contract expires February 2018 and I already had some good discounts according to Steve.

However I will save $70 over the next 2 months and $20/mo after that. There was not contract extension so this is "free" savings.

I've had DirecTV for over 20 years, believe it or not. I already had a pretty good plan in place, so got "only" $20/month off plus free HBO for six months (cancel's automatically... so no need to set a reminder to call).

I called the Customer Loyalty Number and the rep I spoke with (Kyle... nice guy) said that there's nothing special going on, it's the same "loyalty program" that's always going on. But it's on the Internet and they're getting slammed with people asking for the "Holiday Promotion."

Hey... They can call it whatever they want. I got $240/year for a ten minute phone call? I'm happy.

I got the $720 for 12 month discount, plus free HBO and Showtime.
Besides that, I switched my AT&T cell phone plan from 5GB to Unlimited, giving me another $8/month discount.

Best I could do was 6 months of a "Sport Package" that "will drop off after 6 months automatically, no need to call and cancel".

I have already been on a $50 off a month for a year promotion due to many issues I've had with the DirecTV app on my tablet.

Forty bucks savings a month for all of 2018. I passed on the four months of free Showtime. Thank you TXJIM.
