I've tried searching posts here for a site to host an avatar. I've only gotten "not accessible" when attempting to update a photo. Can anyone recommend a site that is allowed here? Flickr was the only one that actually got my avatar to show in my profile but it doesn't show on my posts. Tried the link provided by Creslin, but can only get "Not available" Thank you! Smile

ImageShack supports avatars. About $20/year for unlimited photos. A nice “album” organizing structure. You can scale a full resolution photo when you post it in a forum. I’ve used it for years with no problems. And yes, that’s where my avatar is hosted.

ETA – I’ve never seen the site go down.

Another point – it appears that Postimage is anti-gun. Loading lots of gun photos will get you “blocked” with the “violated the terms of use” message. Per the OP in this thread. And also,

“Same thing happened to me, two days after I uploaded photos of about 30 guns that I inherited. No explanation, even though I requested one.”

No such problem with ImageShack. Member bac1023 uses ImageShack, and he has hundreds, maybe thousands, of gun photos.

Ok, it only gave me that option if I view it through my profile (weird) but it works thanks. I posted it but it's yuuuuge. Now I got to figure out the size thing

Looks like you figured it out, but I'll pop in an image from IMGUR to help others.

Once you've uploaded you image(s) to IMGUR, click on your user name in the upper right, select Images, then click on the image you want to post.

You will get a page with that image and the options you can choose to post an image.

At the bottom right are the option for Sizes:

I find that Large Thumbnail works best on SF, so, click that.

Then go up to Direct Link, click copy, return to SF and post the image.

Bobs your uncle!
