For those suffering from PHPaul Piddly Project withdrawal...
I've been on a bit of a "minion" kick, having made various bits for my daughter. The local metal recycler saves well pressure tanks for me.

I normally use the smaller ones, but he had set this aside for me and I was wondering what to do with it.

My daughter found this on Pinterest:

I liked the basic idea, but didn't see it working all that well as a grill given no way to control the heat. So I decided to make a planter out of it.

I laid out the windows, cut everything out, added some wheels and axles and a box on top for the plants and daughter is going to paint it in a 60's Hippie Bus Flower Power scheme

What a great idea!!!

I've got 2 used tanks like that from moving my
pumphouse & installing new large tank.

Too big to ship & it's a long drive from PNW to Maine.

I don't do much of a veggie garden any more. Too much trouble trying to keep the damndeer from eating everything.

I did two short rows of potatoes (I do love me some new potatoes) and 4 tomato plants.

I harvested the last of the tomatoes a week or so ago, pulled up all the fencing and tilled everything under.

Understandable- deer ate the last tomato I grew 3 seasons ago. I still have pears, apples and figs- and have to fight off the dog-sized fox squirrels for them. Effing nature. I have to control the opossum and raccoon population to get an egg from my hens anymore. And probably need a donkey to keep the ever-more-bold coyote off the cows. At least I could night hunt the deer off my crops if the need arose to live austere like.

Sorry about your garden though- twas a thing to behold for me.
Grandpa used to grow tomatoes, pepper, squash, cukes, peas and beans, potatoes, okra, corn, greens, cabbage, onions and the best damn strawberries I ever ate- all on about a 1/4 acre.

I always hoped to do the same but damn the time and work to watch varmint and vermin sneak in and spirit it all away. If the bi- polar precipitation and crippling temperature swings allowed it to grow healthy enough that you could keep the bugs off of it. I scoff at preppers who think they will “start” gardening at the end of the world.

.

When she outgrows her toys, you could turn that into a BBQ grill for yourself or as an engagement gift for the guy who will eventually become your son-in-law!!!

She's 57. If she hasn't outgrown her toys by now...she's too closely related to me. Big Grin

And three guys have auditioned for the S-i-L role. None have lasted very long. Confused

Daughter, thanks to a VERY generous boss, has been off with pay since Dec 22nd. She's been catching up on her crafts and found time to finish painting the Love Bus. I'll clear coat it and it'll be front and center in next Spring's flower garden plan.
