Crowder is awesome. I like his show, love Change my Mind segments, and now these.

1st - Good discussion on Free Speech and Press.

2nd - Interesting info on VA gun laws. Required to have rifle and specific amount of shot, powder, bayonet, etc. at all times

Civil War - Not watched this one yet.

I'd love to sit around a campfire with Crowder, Barton, and a good bottle of Bourbon or two. They could probably fill my brain cells faster than I could kill them off.

The American Masterclass videos were good. Watched them the other day. I learned a few things.

This Change my Mind bonus video was just posted yesterday.

In regards to the 2nd amendment..."Government can recognize it but they cannot regulate it...."We've allowed government to have a role it should never have had."

+1000 In Washington alone, we have at least 5 SCOTUS judges and 500+ members of Congress that do 'not' grasp (or agree with) that simple reality. That's the primary problem with this country we need to resolve.

I hadn't heard of Barton before.
Not that Wikipedia is any kind of authority, but the information on his Wikipedia page is decidedly unflattering, re: his accuracy.

I do enjoy Crowder.

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

Yep I just read that. I guess we can take it with a grain of salt. I sure can't attest to the accuracy of his information.

I just assumed it was some random historian. No idea who he was.

Barton is controversial due to his insistence that the majority of the Founders were orthodox Christians and that so much of our government’s founding flowed from that.
I have read some criticism that seems legitimate, but I believe he’s still worth reading and paying attention to.

The thing that really gave me pause was his own publisher disavowing his book due to the discovered inaccuracies. That got my attention.
