I am unable to fathom people's willingness to be filmed, let alone filming themselves, acting like idiots and assholes. Also goes for reality and judge shows.

I guess no one told those folks that today is National Watermelon Day. And they observe it by smashing melons. That wouldn't happen in the South; chill those melons down under a shade tree, slice it up, a little salt...
And no PPE required.

I am happy to see they used appropriate safety gear... lol
And that is the hardest any of them ever worked.
Do, Or do not. There is no try.

I can’t remember the name of the Theory, but it goes something like this:
There’s a point with Intelligence and IQ, where someone is so dumb, they don’t have the smarts to realize that they are actually dumb.
And in that video, there’s the proof.

Take it to the next level and try eating it like they do even further south in Mexico... Instead of just salt, try it with some Tajin, which is a seasoning blend made from salt, chili powder, and dehydrated lime.
It's amazing on watermelon, and is also good on honeydew, cantaloupe, mango, pineapple, and even cucumber.
(Then the next level after that is to try adding some Chamoy to the watermelon as well, which is a type of sweet-ish Mexican hot sauce that goes well with fruit too.)

I may have to try that seasoning, the international grocery store nearby should have it. Just finished some tomatoes and cucumbers, would have zested those up pretty good.
ETA: You fellows talked me into it, bought a small container and some diced mango and kiwi this morning. The grocery store down the street had some, but only the classic. This message has been edited. Last edited by: rat2306,

Could you imagine showing up to that event, breaking out a MAGA hat, and deploying a Trump flag?

You might be referring to the Dunning-Kruger effect? Dunning-Kruger is like the Tueller 21' rule in that it is widely misinterpreted & misrepresented.
A more practical explanation is that ppl generally suck at self-assessment. It's a form of cognitive bias. No one likes to be seen as below average; therefore:
Every guy thinks his dick is at least a little bigger than average.
Every girl who goes out clubbing & partying thinks she's at least a little hotter than average.
People who are obese think of themselves as "carrying a few extra pounds."
People who need alcohol to function don't think of themselves as alcoholics. They're ppl who might drink a couple more drinks per day than average.
Anyone who managed to graduate from HS thinks he's of at least average intelligence, and if he's not book smart, he makes up for it by being street smart. You should ask a military recruiter what he thinks about all those street smart recruits.

Also quite tasty on your micheladas, and Dos Equis! Don't try it on peaches, just trust me on that.

It’s very popular these days. Your regular Giant/Safeway/Wegman’s/HarrisTeeter should all have it.
We discovered it a good number of years back in Albuquerque. On street corn. Really, really good.

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through the price hike in watermelons.

I find it hilarious that they need to wear a hard hat, goggles, a cover shirt, cover pants & gloves (PPE) to hit a watermelon with a stick.

these people have such low self esteem it is about all they can muster to do the sillyist shit on earth and then to film it is just precious. I cannot imagine someone that is not mentally ill doing the things these people do.
