Yep- those Chevrolet truck grills and side mirrors are hideous. And let’s not leave out those side mirrors from Dodge. Those extend into adjacent lanes! I’m bewildered at whom it was that OK’d this stuff?

I love Subaru’s but if you want ugly check out next years “update” to the Outback. It makes the above picture look like Melania. Check out 26 Outback. Yuk.

I don't mind that 4Runner front end. Kinda prefer it to my 2024.

All these vehicles' front ends look like Cylons, Predators or giant largemouth bass, all of which want to kill you. Roll Eyes

It is a nod to the heritage of the original roots of the company which became the Toyota that most know today...they started as a sewing machine manufacturer

It is like the BMW logo which is meant to remind one of a airplane prop

Yes . And here's a link to a story on the craftsmanship behind it. Cool

Yeah, that 2026 is ugly. I actually don't mind the one in the post directly above yours...I think it's kinda utilitarian looking and practical, which I appreciate. I'd drive one.

For sure. But some of their engines and drive trains are very good iirc. Too bad some auto companies feel so secure that they ignore their styling.

IMO, the pig snout BMWs are really bad.
I saw a video explaining why the grilles get bigger & bigger [sufficient cooling with less gap between the grille & radiator]. Still ugly.
The Lexus 'spindle' grille. It's ok on some models, but it was rightly derided as a 'Predator' maw when it debuted.

I'm a huge Mercedes fan, but not too fond on the current styling. The EQ [EV] sedans are especially bad.
On some, the giant Mercedes star is also the radar for the adaptive cruise control. I prefer the traditional grille & the star on the hood. Had I kept my 2015, I'd have looked into swapping it.

Nissan, as a brand [outside the Z & GTR], pretty dull designs. Some oddballs like the Juke & 2nd gen Kicks, but overall nothing exciting in over a decade. And they made the Murano Cabrio, which was an aesthetic abomination, IMO.

Mitsubishi is boring, but they're cheap. Seems they've taken the bottom rung from Hyundai/Kia of old.

Minor things:
When Chevrolet moved the grille badge from the center to the upper 1/3 it made the trucks look a lot worse. The HD front end [posted already in this thread] is bad too.

The new Ford Expedition & Navigator, overall not bad, but the rear is hideous. I've seen a few Expedition on the road & the black trim under the rear window makes no sense.

Exotic marque SUVs. Lamborghini Urus [tarted up Audi Q8/Porsche Cayenne], Ferrari Purosangue. Just not a fan, we'll see how long until McLaren gives it a go.
The Bentley Bentayga & Rolls Royce Cullinan get a slight pass. Upper luxury brands & still pretty uncommon. I see Urus all the time around Houston.

The new Audis took a much softer design with the new generation. Not bad looking, but quite bland. I think it was the A5 or A6 I saw photos of, didn't look like a lux car at all.

The Jaguar, also posted earlier on here, bad looking and political/social motivated. Roll Eyes

Mitsubishi's SUVs, like every cookie-cutter S/CUV out there, are boring, but at least not offensively ugly. Even the Mirage has gone from fugly (mostly due to its disproportionately little wheels & tires) to not-half-bad. And that car is being discontinued after they get rid of remaining 2024 models.

Which engines? I can’t recall a single motor of theirs that is noteworthy, and many are just the opposite. And their drivetrains are severely outdated. I have two different AWD vehicles right now that have better drivetrains and more sophisticated than anything Subaru makes. And they use CVT transmissions in their entire lineup sans the BRZ and that is a Toyota collaboration. CVT’s are not good transmissions.
