oddballJayme Closs found safe
Here are the court documents laying out in detail of the murders. Pretty gruesome stuff. The guy used a 12 gauge Mossberg with slugs at close range. He is a monster.

Rope.
reusable.
Because there's going to be another asshole that's going to need it in a short while.
Hell, we have 1000's of them living at our expense already! Anybody know how many murderers, child rapists, etc ad nauseum we taxpayers are supporting in our "prisons"?
Save some money, .22 to the back of the head. For ALL of them.

sdyoddball posted a link above to details of the case.
Here a few bullets from that information.
The killer is Jake Patterson
He used a 12 gauge shotgun w slugs. His intent was to kill.
Jayme’s father went to the entrance door which had a dead bolt.
Jayme’s father looked through a small piece of decorative glass in the center of the wooden door. He asked Patterson to show his badge. ( Apparently thinking Patterson was a police officer)
Patterson aimed at the father’s head and shot through the still locked door. The father was killed.
Patterson shot the dead bolt w a slug. He then pushed the door open.
Jayme and her mother had barricaded in a bathroom. Patterson smashed into the bathroom door with his shoulder 10 to 15 times. The door split in two.
After killing the mother, Patterson put Jayme in the trunk of his car. Patterson estimated he was at the Closs home for about 4 minutes total.
Jayme’s mother had called 911. Patterson said about 20 seconds after he started to drive away, he yielded to 3 police cars traveling to the house with emergency lights and sirens on.

From this tragic event, you can draw your own conclusions about how to better think about home self defense

KeystonerI haven't heard or read anything about sexual assault of Jayme. Great if that's one less thing she has to deal with but would that be typical of whack jobs who kidnap and hold captive their victims for months? It wasn't the case with Elizabeth Smart.

F that. Put him in the general population and he'll be dead in less than a month. What a monster.

That is almost too nice for him. He needs to have his arms and legs ripped off his body.

I’ve been following this story but had not seen the first article of how the creep selected her.
Glad she was found alive and that the former social worker and neighbor took her in. I’ve tried to put myself in the shoes of the family who received the knock on the door and that her murderous captor may be coming. There would definitely be some ARs coming out of the safe and my chest carrier would be going on.
A little over 20 years ago, I designed and managed construction of a new oil & gas operations building that would be manned 24 hours per day. It had a few parking spots and an entrance from outside of our 6’ tall fence with barb wire on top. In its first year of use, in the middle of the night the operator was startled by a frantic pounding on the door. At the door was a naked woman who told him in Spanish that she had been raped and escaped her rapist. He let her in and called 911. We were only allowed pocket knives at work and he said that it was an extremely long few minutes waiting for the LEO response to the 911 call only being armed with a pocket knife.
Just heard there was no prior contact. He saw her get on a school bus and that started it in motion. He did not know her name until after he abducted her. I guess he had worked with her parents for a month a few years back at a processing plant. But that connection had nothing to do with him targeting her.
Seems weird that he didn’t learn the name of his obsession until after he’d kidnapped her, even though he’d even been to their residence (stalking/reconnoitering) twice. Did it say the amount of time that transpired between him seeing her and the actual kidnapping in any of these articles?
The time between the first time he saw her and the day of the murders and taking Jayme was not divulged. Before he killed Jayme’s mother he had her duct tape Jayme.

irreverentInteresting that the time frame wasn’t laid out.
It appears that a GoFundMe was started for him to help him with his bail. GoFundMe shut it down, but wow. This is one fd up case.
