As part of our move to a new media company, VERSANT — which also includes CNBC, Golf Channel, GolfNow, and SportsEngine — we’ll no longer be part of NBCUniversal and NBC News. This gives us the freedom to chart our own path forward, and we’re excited about where it’s headed.
In fact, we’ve been growing. In the past few months, we’ve welcomed Pulitzer, Emmy, Murrow, and Peabody award-winning journalists into our newsroom, and have been recruiting for nearly 100 new roles. PrefontaineThe rebranding is for 2 reasons. One being making a stink and making the news sites, for a story, as a means to draw attention to it. Two, they are doing what every other company is doing now, changing direction and business model, and going after Gen Z I bet. It won’t work. It’s a desperation move and it’s already a failure.
