I flew down to the Fayetteville/Bentonville area recently for a potential opportunity, and am trying to evaluate if it would make sense to move.

I spent a few hours last night online looking for places to shoot (outdoor specifically), I found Sturm and Parker's indoor ranges and something at Hobbs State Park, but not much else.

Are there any private clubs in the area? Other places that I didn't list?

Hobbs State Park is the only public outdoor range I know of. It's free, and only has 6 or 8 lanes, so it gets very crowded on weekends, especially near hunting season. It's also unsupervised, so you have to be very cautious. You can occasionally get the place mostly to yourself if you go early on a weekday morning.

The best indoor range I know of in the area is Ozark Sportsman Supply in Tontitown (just west of Springdale/Northwest of Fayetteville). There are a few other indoor ranges around the area, like Sturms in Springdale and Parker's in Rogers, but they're usually smaller and older.

There's at least one private outdoor range in the area, the Rogers Gun Club. You'll need to find a current member to sponsor you.

Bella Vista, at the far northern end of the NWA Metroplex near the Missouri border, has an outdoor rifle/pistol range and a separate trap/skeet/clay shotgun range. However, you must be a landowner in Bella Vista (or guest of a landowner) in order to use those. Bella Vista is a retirement community, and has a bunch of amenities that are only for residents' use.

The Fort Smith area, which is about 45 minutes south of Fayetteville, has several larger outdoor private ranges, including the Old Fort Gun Club and Thor Gun Club. If you want a large outdoor range, especially for long range shooting, it may be worth investing in a membership at one of those and driving down there to shoot.

I do nearly all of my shooting on either private land or at one of the law enforcement ranges. I also live in the southern portion of the Northwest Arkansas metroplex, so I'm mostly familiar with the Fayetteville and Springdale areas. So there may be some other public/private ranges that I'm not familiar with.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Feel free to email me at the address in my profile.

I lived in Fayeteville for awhile about 12 years ago and Hobb Park was the only outdoor range I could find. Every now and then I had it completely to myself but it's usually a little crowded. I'm not sure about the rules and regulations but several of the people from around there would shoot in the nearby state parks.
