My friends I cannot begin to tell you how amped I am right now. My son’s soccer team made it to the championship game undefeated.

They had a few close calls along the way. The semi final saw them having to rematch a powerhouse. They managed to answer a 1-0 deficit with three unanswered goals to win 3-1 and keep their perfect season alive going into the championship game against a team that was also undefeated.

The championship game was nothing short of spectacular. The opposing team came out swinging. Scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes of the game. My son’s team managed to shake it off and scored two goals before the end of the first half.

This game was PHYSICAL with our team of course getting a yellow card and the opposing team getting away with some questionable calls. Despite what I would call pretty bad referees my son’s team never let their foot off the gas and scored again. With 5 minutes left the other team went full court press and managed to score but still trailed by one.

In a VERY hard fought game my son’s team managed something I didn’t expect to see. Their shut down defense held the team off and they won 3-2 in one hell of a game. I won’t be able to talk tomorrow. I was front row cheering screaming praise at our stout AF defense and of course cheering the rest of team on. I might have been the loudest person there. I got a lot of smiles, high fives and odd looks. Big Grin. Oh what fun!

My God that was amazing! Our parents were hands down twice as loud as the other team. We even had a mom bring a trumpet and sit up in the nosebleeed section tooting her horn enthusiastically. Big Grin

My son is right behind the guy holding the trophy! This school hasn’t won a soccer championship in a decade and was not expected to win tonight.

I love this sport so much.

What a way to end the season!!!!!

Congratulations.

It’s a blast isn’t it!!!
My boy plays in more of a rec league because he just wants to play with his buddies. He’s been asked to play on numerous club teams but the choice is always his and here we are.
His team has been together for a number of years now in the rec league and is undefeated for 2 years now and only having one loss in 3 years.
Our team is really really good for the league. The boy usually scores 5 or 6 goals a game and the team is usually in the double digits.

My son’s basketball coach runs a club (one of the clubs that has been trying to get my boy) so came up with an idea and challenged them to a fun little scrimmage.
As we got closer to last night I was a little worried I was asking too much of our boys and kind of wondered if I should have proposed the challenge. We played at their field with the ref so I began to worry if our boys would be a bit intimidated.
Hot Damn if our boys did not come out LIT.
My boy scored in the 1st 30 seconds and after that it was a super physical game and certainly the best game we played. Ended up at 2-2 and with about a minute left my boy broke some ankles on two kids and was headed straight for the goal pretty much alone.
Guess, a kid was pissed and speared my boy in the back. Gave him a penalty kick in the box. My boy kicked the game winner. I am confident he would have scored without the spear.
Our whole team played the best they ever have.
I am not even the coach and I was so proud of these boys beyond measure and thankful that their coaches are the best around.

Such a good feeling watch your boy and his buddies just crush it.
One more game left in the season and we start basketball! To which last season his team won exactly ZERO games. So we will see how he does.
Soccer is his dominant sport for sure so we signed up for a little winter indoor league for him. He has never played indoor before so it should fun.

If we got each other, and that's all we have.
I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand.
You should know I'll be there for you!
