GustoferTriple conjunction celestial event
For star gazers, yesterday was pretty dang cool with the moon, Venus, and Regulus lighting up the morning sky.
"Pretty dang cool" didn't do it justice...it was remarkable.
It'll be a little off and less brilliant, I think, than yesterday, but if you're in a place of the country that can see it and your sky is clear this morning, take a look up.
It should be worth it...and just a little humbling.

GustoferLooks like the moon might be dead this morning where I'm at. Venus and Regulus are still up there though, and Orion and many other stuff. It's been a few good nights/mornings for stargazing.

V-TailToday's vocabulary word: syzygy
Use it three times, and it will be yours.
I had a friend, she was a college English Lit teacher. She always had to be the smartest person in the room. I was a maff major, but a voracious reader, and my vocabulary was heftier than hers. We used to play Scrabble for money, I never got tired of taking her money. Syzygy got me ten bucks when she challenged me.

stray dogThanks for pointing that out. Saw that yesterday morning but didn't realize it was Regulus. Early morning sky has been pretty spectacular lately with the moon and other celestial bodies.

trapper189I don’t think I saw Regulus, sun was coming up. The moon and Venus looked like the sickle and star on the commie flag.

Powers77I wandered what was going on. We were traveling in middle of nowhere just North of Monument Valley and just South of Mexican Hat and there were people congregating at some pull outs obviously looking to the South. Figured something was up.
