flashguyAn odd “side effect” of diabetes, mold in the toilet!
I'm currently on Lantus and Tradjenta; I also take cinnamon and chromium as supplements.

Good for you! HbA1c is a long term average, and is really the definitive number, but your readings have been consistently over 200, so as others mentioned something doesn't jive. Assuming your readings are from a calibrated meter and you are taking them correctly (fasting and bedtime are a good start for averaging), you are likely diabetic. Diet recommendations and/or medication from someone who knows what they are looking for is going to be important...

sig77I had and A1c over 10. Lost 150lbs and now according to the doctor I reversed my insulin resistance. I am super fit now, and very active with a consistent A1c under 5. Your body can fix it, just feed it right and get moving.

mrvmaxDiabetes runs in my family so I decided to buy a blood glucose monitor. I think it was about $30 for the meter, strips and needles for the little device that pricks the finger. occasionally I’ll check my sugar first thing in the morning then two hours after eating to monitor it (in addition to yearly physicals). I’d say for $30 people should invest in one.
